This
is a very deep conversation between Rajiv Malhotra & a highly
accomplished European Sanskrit scholar who has spent most of his life in
Sanskrit studies, starting with his bachelor’s, master’s and PhD
degrees at Banaras Hindu University. Dr Oscar Pujol and Rajiv Malhotra
argue whether certain Sanskrit words should be translated or left in
their Sanskrt original even when used in another language. They also
argue about Rajiv’s concept of digestion of Indian culture into Western
frameworks, especially into Christianity. There are friendly
disagreements that are intellectually profound. The discussion concludes
on a potential area of collaboration with mutual interest.
